Four Accounting Packages In OneThis package is a comprehensive General Ledger based accounting system. The General Ledger can stand alone to provide you with fully reliable Balance Sheet and Income Statement financials complete with supporting reports. Or, it can work in conjunction with any or all of the 3 other modules, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll to provide you with complete basic accounting, including check writing, bank reconciliation, invoicing, inventory tracking, aged payables and more. The A/P, A/R and P/R modules provide all the features you would expect in any high quality commercial accounting programs, but it is all done here through filePro. This makes them highly capable of being integrated with your company's existing filePro databases and applications. Use them as they are, ready to go out of the box, or adjust and modify them to suit your own needs and your way of doing business. They can also be used simply as frameworks that will better help you understand how to build your own systems should this be your goal. There are 7 hours of step-by-step tutorial movies on the installation CD to ensure that each application is thoroughly documented and discussed. These tutorials are organized in such a way that you can start from the beginning an learn each package in turn. No previous knowledge of accounting is required. The tutorial will teach you the intricacies of a General Ledger, double entry system from scratch. Yes, you will actually understand Debits and Credits once and for all, and become comfortable with running all the operations involved with this type of integrated system. There is nothing you won't be able to learn about these applications. Absolutely every piece of filePro source code is supplied, and there is nothing *extra* to confuse you. If a screen, processing table, output format, etc., is there, it is required, and vice versa, there are no items included in the system that has no purpose. Everything is menu driven starting from two clean and simple menus, one for configuration, and one for running the programs. The concept of being able to run multiple companies is comprehensively implemented throughout the entire set of applications. If you are an accountant, for example, you could keep a completely separate set of books for as many clients as you wish to service. Each company (or entity) can have multiple checkbooks (up to 99), and each company can have a completely different Chart of Accounts, different vendors, different customers, different employees, different goods and services, etc., etc., etc. The SS accounting system works exactly the same under Windows and Unix. Complete sets of the programs and menus for both platforms are provided on the CD. You can simply copy them into place on your system under Windows, or un-tar them into place from a provided tarball onto your SCO Openserver, Unix or Linux system. The complete installation procedure takes only seconds. An fpxfer "-lf" file is also provided for direct loading on either Windows or *nix if you have a copy of fpxfer on the receiving platform. (Note for AIX users: Using fpxfer, the entire SS Accounting package will load directly onto AIX, making automatic provision for the necessary swapping of bytes, etc. The procedure takes seconds.) The SS Accounting packages work on filePro Versions 4.8 and higher. A robust set of menu-driven qualifier tools are included which let you add remove and even copy company data from one qualifier to another. This makes storing and referencing multiple years easy. The G/L provides full Balance Sheet in either 1 or two page format. The same for the Income Statement. Either of these reports may show G/L account numbers or not as you choose. . The G/L has a fast and easy checkbook bank reconciliation program. This will work with manual checks and deposits made int the G/L directly as well as with automatic entries made from external programs such as the A/P and Payroll. The General Ledger is at the heart of the system, and may stand alone without the need of any of the other three pieces. Any filePro application can easily post to the G/L by following a set of simple rules. A sample template posting routine is included and discussed to help you interface your existing programs with this core G/L. The other SS modules, A/P, A/R and P/R interface and post to the G/L out of the box. They will not work independently or interface with your applications (unless, of course, you program them to do so by modifying the provided filePro source code.
